Sinner n.1 and Alcaraz n.2 in the new ATP ranking

As of today, the ranking will be officially led by an Italian for the first time. Behind him, the Spaniard takes over Djokovic

June 10, 2024 is a date that will remain historic for Italian tennis, with the official announcement of Jannik Sinner’s world number 1, the twenty-ninth in the history of the ATP ranking. Not only that: behind him there is not the entertaining Novak Djokovic but Carlos Alcaraz, who with his victory at Roland Garros took over the Serbian and thus returns to number 2 in the world. So, for the first time, the computer and the ranking also certify that the era of the Sinner-Alcaraz couple has officially begun, and “threatens” to continue for a long time. In fact, there is no doubt that today the best are the two: they won the first two Slams of the year, Jannik and Carlitos are 21 years old, and both have archived, albeit slowly, the era of the Big Three, the last noble representative of that time, Novak Djokovic, overtook and beat in a slam.
